BASRA WINS FIRST AND SECOND PLACES IN THE OSCARS FOR HIGHEREDUCATION IN ASIA                       The University of Basra ranked first and second in the Oscars for Higher Education in Asia, and it is the only university in Iraq that achieves these ranks.
The University of Basra ranked first in the project to rehabilitate prisoners to integrate them into society after completing their detention period through workshops and courses, as well as completing their studies.
The President of Basra University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, stated that one of the university’s goals is to enable the younger generations to own and employ knowledge in the best possible way, as well as to enable researchers to find sustainable solutions to the challenges facing society, as well as to develop the scientific capacity to obtain solutions for sustainable production and consumption, and finally, the participation of all national and international institutions to share knowledge.
It is worth noting that the University of Basra ranked first at the level of Iraq’s universities in the Times English classification to achieve the goals of sustainable development for the United Nations 2021, and received the first Asian prize for higher education for creativity and arts through the Smile of a Child project.  Laboratories, productive fields and research centers in which specialized research teams work.
