Minister of Higher Education Chairs Meeting of the Ministerial Committee on the Evaluative Examination; Emphasizes Adoption of Unified Academic Standards to Ensure Assessment Quality and Robust Educational Outcomes
His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Haider Bahaa Al-Hasani, chaired a meeting of the ministerial committee tasked with establishing mechanisms to organize the "evaluative examination" for corresponding academic departments across public universities, as well as private universities and colleges included in the initiative.
The Minister underscored the necessity of establishing a comprehensive framework of academic and procedural regulations to ensure the integrity of the examination process and its results, while upholding fairness and equal opportunity for all students. He stressed the importance of applying rigorous scientific standards in the development of examination questions—taking into account specific academic disciplines and the targeted levels of knowledge—and leveraging the expertise of qualified faculty members and subject-matter specialists to draft, review, and evaluate these questions.
The Minister noted that the evaluative examination serves as a key pillar for measuring academic achievement and verifying the efficiency of academic performance across corresponding departments. He emphasized that the success of this initiative depends on strict adherence to ministerial directives and regulations, as well as precise implementation and oversight. Such measures are essential to bolster the reliability of the results, solidify standards of quality and academic rigor, and advance the Ministry’s objectives of enhancing the educational environment and elevating the caliber of its academic outcomes.
