Vision: The Statistics Department aspires to be one of the scientifically distinguished departments in teaching students specialized statistical subjects and providing scientific and statistical advice that government departments and others need to serve the community.  Applying quality specifications and guaranteeing them, as well as seeking to strengthen the bonds of cultural and scientific relations between the ranks of his professors with the outside world in the various scientific and research aspects.

Mission: The Department of Statistics at the College of Administration and Economics at University of Basra seeks to provide the best scientific levels for its students through giving lectures by the department’s teachers and developing students’ capabilities in the field of computer and data analysis, as well as providing the best services and consultancy in the statistical fields to all parties that share benefits and interests with the university  A service to the community by giving scientific lectures in development courses, as well as setting up computer courses to train employees and raise their efficiency in using it and improving its performance.

1- The quality policy to be applied in the department is carried out by spreading this culture among the teaching staff and students alike in order to raise the scientific level and the achievement his department.

2- Emphasis on the completion and development of scientific curricula in line with scientific and technological development and in line with the needs of the labor market.

3- Spreading moral values and good behavior among students and emphasizing the need to adhere to university regulations and instructions.
