A PhD DISSERTATION AT BASRA UNIVERSITY DISCUSSING THE ROLE OF BANKING PERFORMANCE EVALUATION MODELS IN IMPROVING THE PREDICTION OF FINANCIAL FAILURE:
The college of Administration and Economics discussed on Sunday 20/2/2022 a PhD dissertation in the department of financial and banking science about ((The role of banking performance evaluation models in improving the prediction of financial failure))- an applied study in a sample of private commercial banks operating in Iraq.
The dissertation of the researcher (Hussein Mohsen Tawfeeq Al-Mutairy) aimed to evaluation the financial performance of Iraqi private commercial banks through the use of both evaluation CAMLS and PATROL to identify which one is more appropriate to apply to the variables of the Iraqi banking environment.
The dissertation concluded that the PATROL models is superior to the CAMELS evaluation model in terms of its suitability to the special Iraqi banking environment in evaluating performance so that it supports the mission of the central bank of Iraq in its supervisory role over Iraqi banks.
