Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Impact of Strategic Foresight on Financial Decisions
A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, examined the impact of strategic foresight on the financial decisions of banks—specifically through the lens of "strategic resonance" as a mediating variable—in an applied study involving a sample of private bank managers in the southern region.
The thesis, presented by student Mahmoud Shaker Nasser, aimed to demonstrate the extent to which strategic foresight addresses imbalances in financial decisions through strategic resonance.
The study addressed the issue of weaknesses in the credit and investment decisions of private banks in the southern region.
It concluded that there is a positive, indirect impact of strategic foresight on financial decisions, with strategic resonance serving as a mediating mechanism.
The thesis recommended that banks adopt an integrated foresight approach, link its outputs to decisions regarding credit, liquidity, and risk management, and activate mechanisms for strategic resonance and dynamic adaptation.
