A MASTER'S THESIS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH EXAMINES THE POTENTIAL ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF IRAQ'S ACCESSION TO THE SHANGHAI COOPERATION ORGANIZATION AND BRICS
A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, Department of Economics, examined the potential economic impacts of Iraq's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS in the new world system.
The thesis presented by researcher Wijdan Adnan Al-Youssef aims to analyze the potential economic impacts of Iraq's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS in light of the transformations witnessed by the new world system. The research discusses the importance of joining these two organizations and its impact on the Iraqi economy in various aspects such as trade, foreign direct investment, and gross domestic product, with a focus on the opportunities and challenges accompanying this step. The thesis concluded with a number of conclusions and proposals, the most important of which was that the two blocs enjoy an important economic and political position at the global level, and that Iraq has good trade and investment relations with most of the countries of the two organizations. 
The study recommended that Iraq join these two blocs, as its accession achieves many of the goals it seeks to achieve and benefits from the advantages and benefits offered by these two blocs.
