THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS SEMINAR ENTITLED (INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENT DISCIPLINE IN INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH)

On Tuesday 12/12/2023 the Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah held a seminar entitled (Instructions for Student Discipline in Institutions of Higher Education and Scientific Research), in which Dr. Ali Abd Al-Zahra lectured in the Statistics Department. 
The seminar included learning about the legal instructions and directives related to student discipline, according to the aforementioned law no. (160) of 2007, in order for the student to be in the correct manner in terms of his commitment to the duties assigned to him and to know the penalties resulting in the event of a violation, as well as the penalties that pertain to each case, in detail, from the penalty of warning, warning, dismissal, or promotion.
The seminar aimed to identify the most important legal paragraphs that concerns the university student and knowledge of the law that regulates these instructions (including obligations and penalties in the event of violating the instructions). This seminar specifically targets first-year students.
In conclusion, the seminar recommended the necessity of adhering to the law and university instructions to avoid disciplinary penalties , mutual respect and cooperation between students and spreading a spirit of fellowship among them in addition to respecting the professors and don’t overstep him.
