THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS SEMINAR ON STUDENT BEHAVIOR BETWEEN MIND AND EMOTION
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Department of Management Information Systems, organized on Tuesday 7/11/2023, an awareness-raising seminar entitled (Student Behavior between mind and Emotion), in which the professor and expert in the field of human development (Safaa Muhammad Jawad Al-Dhahi) lectured.
The seminar included talking about student behavior at the university and what are the factors that influence decision-making, including customs and traditions, on student behavior.
The seminar aimed to achieve a good balance between emotion and reason, which in turn may often make it impossible to prefer between the choices of the mind and the heart, especially if situations require advisory opinion immediately and in the moment.
In conclusion, the seminar recommended basic points whose goal was to strive to persevere, control emotions when reckless or angry, listen with understanding and empathy, think flexibly, think about striving for accuracy in making good decisions, questioning and posing problems, applying past knowledge to new situations and benefiting from it, thinking and communicating clearly and precisely.
