Basra University organizes a seminar on the monetary policy of central banks in light of the growing trading in cryptocurrencies:
Tuesday 11/29/2022, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra organized a panel discussion on the monetary policy of central banks in light of the growing trading of cryptocurrencies. The session, in which Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Mahdi Hussein lectured, aimed to clarify the concept and origin of cryptocurrency, clarify the concept of block chain technology, and brief history of Bitcoin. The seminar dealt with two main axes, in which the first axis clarified the importance of the topic and its economic and financial dimensions. The second axis explained the theoretical, technical and financial aspects of the emergence of digital currencies and the extent of their impact on the monetary policy tools of central banks.
