The University of Basrah is investigating safety communications, safety procedures and rules, and the prevention of maritime accidents and injuries at the General Company for Ports of Iraq:

A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, Department of Business Administration, University of Basrah, examined the topic of safety communications as a moderating variable in the relationship between safety procedures and rules and the prevention of maritime accidents and injuries. This study was conducted in a survey of a sample of workers on marine vessels at the General Company for Ports of Iraq.
The thesis, presented by researcher Muaayad Ali Awaid, aims to produce a set of results, including the moderating role of safety communications between safety rules and procedures and the prevention of maritime accidents and injuries. The study concluded that there is a relationship between safety rules and procedures and the prevention of maritime accidents and injuries. Based on these results, a set of conclusions and recommendations were formulated.
The thesis included the construction of a hypothetical model explaining the relationship between the variables. A model was formulated consisting of three main variables and two main hypotheses, each of which has a set of sub-hypotheses.
