A MASTER’S THESIS AT BASRA UNIVERSITY DISCUSSEING THE DIVERSIFICATION OF NATURAL INCOME SOURCES IN THE IRAQI ECONOMY FOR THE PERIOD 2003-2020
On Monday 7/3/2022 the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra discussed a master’s thesis in the Department of Economics on (Diversification of national sources of income in the Iraqi economy for the period 2003-2020).
The thesis of the researcher (Israa Faleh Faisal) aims to identify the reality of diversifying the sources of national income in the Iraqi economy and to identify the plans, programs and policies related to diversifying the sources of national income in Iraq.
The thesis concluded that the Iraqi economy suffers from structural imbalances represented by the imbalance in the production structure for the oil sector, as its contribution to the gross domestic product amounted to 49%, compared to the weak contribution of other basic sectors such as the agricultural and industrial sector, and the absence of strategic planning that collects and unifies development plans within a long-term time frame.
