The environmental scientific team of the University of Basra organized a questionnaire for the organizational block project on the Shatt Al-Arab stream.

The preliminary results of the questionnaire, which received a great scientific interaction from the specialists, showed that more than 93% of the respondents support the construction of the dam for scientific reasons and realistic proposals. This percentage corresponds to 7% of the participants who oppose the establishment of the dam, explaining their refusal that the agricultural lands south of the dam will be destroyed as needed. The banks on both sides of the Shatt al-Arab to a height, and this would conflict with the interests of a large number of Basra citizens, and that the navigational channel (Shatt al-Arab) after the dam towards the sea would be dry and unnavigable in the case of islands.

Therefore, the respected professors are kindly requested to express their scientific opinion on the above observations
