HIGHER DIPLOMA RESEARCH AT BASRA UNIVERSITY DISCUSSES ADOPTING A SWOT ANALYSIS TO FORMULATE A STRATEGIC ALTERNATIVE TO DEAL WITH SERVICE AND COLLECTION

The Higher Diploma in Business Administration discussed the adoption of a SWOT analysis to formulate a strategic alternative to deal with service and collection contracts - an applied study in the General Company for Southern Electricity Distribution.
The research presented by the student (Ahmad Ghazi Hammoud) included four chapters. The first chapter dealt with previous studies and research methodology, and the second chapter included the theoretical framework and consisted of two topics. The first topic was strategic analysis and the second study was the tools of strategic analysis, and the third chapters shows the practical aspect, the fourth and final chapter came with the most important conclusions and recommendations.
The aim of the research is to identify the reality of the environmental analysis process in the General Company for the Distribution of Southern Electricity and to diagnose the internal environment factors to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the company and to identify the external environmental secretions that affect the company, embodied by opportunities that can be exploited and threats that are supposed to be avoided, or reduced their impact.
The study reached several recommendations, including adopting a SWOT analysis for the purposes of formulating the company's strategies and working to make use of this analytical tool in all the company's activities to achieve maximum benefit and pay attention to the results of the environmental analysis included in the SWOT matrix with their details and justifications in order to support the direction of the company's focus strategy.
The researcher concluded that there is a possibility to use the analysis of the internal and external environment of the company in the study community by using the SWOT matrix method to formulate a strategic alternative to service and collection contracts and the absence of prior studies at the ministry’s level to analyze the internal and external environment to deal with service and collection contracts despite the fact that these contracts are a new and good phenomenon if they are available Conditions for success.
