UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES SEMINAR ON MICROSOFT OFFICE SKILLS
The College of Administration and Economics/Women's Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized a seminar entitled: Fundamentals and Skills of Microsoft Office Applications in the Workplace.
The seminar aimed to develop practical skills in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, and to enhance participants' ability to prepare and analyze data and organize documents, thus supporting academic and professional performance.
The seminar, presented by lecturer Zainab Subaih Juma and researcher Ilham Abdul Samad Al-Ta'ma, included two main topics. The first lecture addressed skills in preparing and analyzing data using tables and pivot tables in Excel, highlighting its importance in organizing data, performing calculations, analyzing results, and creating reports that support decision-making.
The second lecture focused on the fundamentals and skills of Microsoft Word, including creating and formatting documents, inserting tables and explanatory elements, as well as using advanced tools and integration in teamwork. 
The seminar recommended the need to develop the skills of the staff in using Microsoft Office applications, due to their role in improving the quality of work, enhancing performance efficiency, and keeping pace with the requirements of the modern labor market.
