UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES A SEMINAR ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
The College of Administration and Economics/Women's Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized a seminar entitled: "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence: Neural Networks and Machine Learning."
The seminar aimed to introduce the concepts of artificial intelligence, explain the relationship between statistics and data analysis, and highlight its importance for statistics students in developing their skills and improving their career prospects in data science.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Asmaa Ayoub Yaqoub and Lecturer Zainab Sabih Jumaa, included a presentation of the basic concepts of artificial intelligence and types of machine learning, in addition to reviewing practical applications such as price prediction, medical data analysis, recommendation systems (such as product or content suggestions), and fraud detection.
The seminar recommended the necessity of enhancing students' skills in statistics and programming, and paying attention to learning languages such as Python and R, due to their role in data analysis and building intelligent models, as well as keeping pace with developments in the field of artificial intelligence.
