A Diploma Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Impact of Total Quality Management on Organizational Efficiency at the Haritha Thermal Power Plant:

A higher diploma thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, investigated the impact of Total Quality Management and its relationship to organizational efficiency through the mediating role of benchmarking. The study was an exploratory one at the Haritha power plant.

The research, presented by student Duha Nazim Abdullah, aimed to address a real-world problem: low resource utilization efficiency, high waste, and operational downtime. It sought to achieve this by adopting a modern management approach to improve operational performance.

The research concluded that total quality management has a direct impact on organizational efficiency, and benchmarking demonstrated the strongest effect, with partial mediation.

The research recommended the gradual adoption of benchmarking and the development of a data-driven system to support decision-making, improve efficiency, and reduce waste.
