UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES WORKSHOP ON ILLEGAL MIGRATION
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Administration and Economics—in collaboration with the College’s Department of Statistics and the University of Basrah’s Center for Development and Continuing Education—organized a workshop to raise awareness about the dangers of illegal migration.
The workshop aimed to inform young people about the risks associated with irregular migration and to encourage them to explore available local alternatives.
Led by college member Rehab Ahmed Abed, the workshop covered the legal, security, and humanitarian dimensions of irregular migration. It sought to educate youth on local opportunities and the dangers of exploitation, while fostering a sense of national belonging and academic awareness.
The workshop recommended providing training opportunities and support for youth-led projects, as well as intensifying awareness campaigns within the university to help curb the phenomenon of illegal migration.
