UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS-RAISING WORKSHOP ENTITLED "SELF-MANAGEMENT AND ITS ADAPTATION TO UNIVERSITY LIFE: FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS AS A MODEL"
The Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an educational guidance workshop entitled “Self-Management and its Adaptation to University Life: First-Year Students as a Model.”
The workshop, which was lectured by L. Iman Hato, a lecturer in the Business Administration Department, included the concept of self-management, its importance, and the stages of its development.
Dr. Dunya Salman Mohsen, a lecturer at the College of Education for Girls, also pointed out the goals of self-management and its impact on university students’ adaptation.
Assist. L. Yasmine Najm, a lecturer in the Business Administration Department, explained the theories of self-management and the levels of their application.
The workshop aimed at the importance of self-management for university students, especially in the first stage, to achieve academic and personal excellence, as this management has a great impact on the reality of students’ lives to achieve their future goals.
In conclusion, the workshop recommended the necessity of organizing self-management in a way that contributes to employing it to achieve adaptation and integration for first-year students in university life to ensure improving the scientific level and academic achievement.
