A PhD dissertation at the University of Basrah discussed alternative scenarios for investing Iraq's official reserves in light of the risks of international financial investment for the period 2010-2021.
The dissertation of the researcher (Shorouk Khalaf Latif) aimed to provide the possibility of building alternative investment portfolios to invest surplus reserves in new investment channels and in various ways that achieve a higher return and acceptable risks.
The dissertation concluded that Iraq has high reserves that exceed the optimal size for the level of adequacy and that it can invest in various alternatives that contribute to achieving its main goals.
