THE COLLEGE OF ADMINISTRATION AND ECONOMICS PARTICIPATES IN A WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPING MEDIA SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
The Media Unit at the College of Administration and Economics participated in a training workshop held by the Department of Public Relations and Media at the Presidency of the University of Basrah on ((Developing media skills and experiences)) on Sunday 16/4/2023, which was held in the Presidency of the University of Basrah for officials of the people and media units in the colleges and centers affiliated to the University Basrah.
The workshop was chaired by Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi and attended by Prof. Dr. Abdul Hussein Tawfiq Shibli, Dean of the college.
The workshop dealt with the ethics of the media profession and everything related to journalistic and media news, what are the methods used in editing and writing the news, the information that must be provided in this news, the sources, types and parts of the news, as well as the importance of taking a picture that expresses the event.
The workshop discussed ways to improve the level of performance of the university media because of its effective role in highlighting the activities held at the University of Basrah, and an indication of the most prominent obstacles facing and hindering media work and raising news on social networking sites and the website and how to overcome them, and follow up on all the activities of colleges and centers.
The President of the University listened to these obstacles and put forward new methods and multiple ideas for more advanced solutions to overcome these problems.
The workshop recommended the need for all university employees to cooperate with workers in the divisions and media units, and to hold continuous workshops and periodic monthly meetings aimed at discussing developments in media work, communicating new ideas and goals, following up on their completion rate, and coming up with realistic solutions to the obstacles that stand in the way of advancing media work towards the forefront.
