THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS SEMINAR ON THE ROLE OF ACADEMIC ADVISING IN BEHAVIORAL DISCIPLINE AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS:
On Tuesday 20/12/2022 the Deanship of the College of Administration and Economics in cooperation with the Counseling Unit, organized its awareness seminar tagged (the role of academic counseling in the behavioral discipline of university students).
The seminar in which Assist. Prof. Dr. Sinan Saeed Al-Asadi lectured, from the College of Education for Girls, aimed to adhere to the laws, internal regulations, and instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, its institutions, and the Deanship of the College, and to avoid everything that is inconsistent with academic behavior, such as high discipline, respect for management, employees, collegial relations, and cooperation between students.
The seminar included two axes. The first axis dealt with the controls, regulations, and systems that the student must observe and abide by, and the penalties that result from the person in case of violating them. The second axis presented some of the ministry’s laws, such as adherence to public order, good behavior, adherence to uniform uniforms on campus, and not doing actions that would prejudice religious beliefs and nationalism.
The seminar recommended linking the theoretical aspects with the applied practical aspects, whether traditional or modern, for the purpose of facing recent developments and changes in the requirements of job opportunities.
