PhD DISSERTATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH DISCUSSING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ECONOMIC GROWTH AND HUMAN CAPITAL IN IRAQ:
On Thursday 26/5/2022 the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah discussed a PhD dissertation in the Department of Economics on (the relationship between economic growth and human capital in Iraq using the Lucas model for the period 2003-2020).
The researcher's dissertation (Baidaa Razak Hussein) aims to analyze the relationship between economic growth and human capital in Iraq and to estimate the impact of human capital on economic growth in Iraq within the framework of one of the modern growth models, which is the Lucas model.
The dissertation concluded that the relationship between the accumulation of human capital and the standing allocated to education, expressed in the average years of study was strong. There is also a causal relationship in two directions in a manner consistent with the logic of economic theory.
