BASRA UNIVERSITY HOLDS A SPECIALIZED SYMPOSIUM ON THE ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF THE GOVERNMENTAL WHITE PAPER
The College of Administration and Economics at Basra University held its specialized economic symposium on (Economic Evaluation of the Governmental White Paper), which was held under the slogan (Reforming the Iraqi Economy in Light of the White Paper) on the Zoom electronic platform, delivered by Prof. Dr. Nabil Jaafar Al-Marsoumi and Prof. Dr. Youssef Ali Al-Asadi.
The symposium aimed to conduct an economic evaluation of the governmental white paper in order to monitor and analyze its ability to amend and reform the course of the Iraqi economy in order to get out of the current economic crisis and develop the Iraqi economy, with the participation of researchers and specialists.
The symposium included presenting several axes that dealt with the problems of the Iraqi economy, the second axis included the axes of the white paper, and the third axis explained the advantages of the white paper, while the fourth axis came with the negatives of the white paper.
The two researchers called for the possibility of preparing an alternative paper for the white paper by Iraqi experts specialized in Iraqi economic affairs for their knowledge of the details of the structure of the Iraqi economy and how to develop it, and preparing a five-year plan to rebuild a new structure for the Iraqi economy that gradually gets rid of the rentier that was adopted during the last (17) years after providing funds. Necessary to implement them, in addition to building a rational government by applying the principle of governance of all government measures to get rid of red tape and eliminate financial and administrative corruption.
