A SCIENTIFIC STUDY AT BASRA UNIVERSITY EXAMINES THE REPERCUSSIONS OF THE COVID-19 CRISIS ON INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL AND ITS IMPACT ON ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT :
A scientific study at the University of Basra prepared by the assistant prof. Dr. Naeem Sabah Jarrah at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra with the participation of research assistant Zainab Hussein Ibrahim discussed (the repercussions of the Covid-19 crisis on intellectual capital and its impact on achieving sustainable development)
The study which was published in the journal conterence proceeding, showed
Intellectual capital with all its components is important to get out of the current crisis facing the world, as it is not possible to reach the 2030 sustainable development plan and the conditions were not ideally prepared which requires concerted efforts to come out with the least losses and invest the remaining natural and intellectual resources in achieving what the world mechanism seeks.
The study included three chapters the first chapter dealt with the concept and characteristics of intellectual capital. The second chapter dealt with a statement of the concept and dimensions of sustainable development, and the third chapter showed the impact of intellectual capital on sustainable development.
The study concluded the need to work on providing an attractive investment environment for investors in pursuit of achieving the 2030 development goals with the highest ideal, as well as reducing dependence on oil and searching for resources that support the economy in such those crises.
