A MASTER THESIS DISCUSSES THE CHANGES IN MONETARY POLICY AND THEIR IMPACT ON FOREIGN EXCHANGE MARKETS, IRAQ AS A MODEL FOR THE PERIOD (2004-2019):
A master's thesis discusses in financial and banking sciences at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basra the changes in monetary policy and their impact on the foreign exchange markets, Iraq as a model for the period (2004-2019).
The researcher’s thesis (Alaa Muhammad Abd al-Salam) illustrated the conceptual framework for monetary policy the exchange rate, and the reality of monetary policy in Iraq.
The thesis aims to know and study the critical policy, study the mixed variables of the policy, and know its objectives, tools and development according to each period passed by.
The thesis recommended that the Central Bank of Iraq use its monetary tools to maintain the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar, especially after the approval of the Central Bank’s independence law. The central bank’s use of the currency window as a tool in maintaining the stability of the Iraqi dinar exchange rate.
