A PHD THESIS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRA DISCUSSES (THE USE OF EXPLORATORY SEQUENTIAL DESIGN TO CLARIFY THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN (W.S.R) APPROACH AND KNOWLEDGE-BLOCKING BEHAVIORS: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF KNOELEDGE SHARING)
A PhD thesis was examined at the College of Business and Economics at Basra University (The use of an exploratory sequential design to clarify the relationship between the (W.S.R) approach and knowledge blocking behaviors: the mediating role of knowledge sharing - a case study in Zain Communications Company in Basra Governorate).
The thesis presented by the researcher ((Muhammad Salih Hadi)) included five chapters. The first chapter dealt with defining the general framework of the study, and the second chapter was devoted to the theoretical framework of the study, while the third chapter was concerned with the philosophy and design of the study, and the fourth chapter came with the analytical framework for the integration of mixed-style designs, and the fifth chapter And the last one is devoted to conclusions and recommendations.
The thesis aimed to reduce the behavior of blocking knowledge, and the aim of employing the exploratory sequential design in collecting qualitative data from a small sample in the qualitative study stage and then looking at its results if they were suitable for generalization to a larger sample. The first stage here was the qualitative study for the purpose of exploring the role of the W.S.R approach in reducing behavior Withholding knowledge, then it moved to the second stage to explore the role of this approach in reducing knowledge-blocking behavior by employing a mediating variable represented by knowledge sharing.
The researcher concluded the clarity of the role of the W.S.R entrance as a modern management perspective to deal with problems facing the company and upgrade it in relation to its indicators (knowledge characteristics, organizational context, individual context) as an attempt to reduce some undesirable behaviors in the work environment, such as behavior withholding knowledge.
The researcher recommended that the current study should be completed with other studies, foremost of which is setting up a plan with specific mechanisms for the possibility of rooting the W.S.R entrance in Zain Telecom, and to perpetuate its development and adoption as a field procedural organizational formula to solve many of the problems facing the company.
