UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON OBESITY AND ITS HEALTH RISKS
The Student Activities Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, organized an awareness campaign titled "Obesity: Its Effects and Associated Health Challenges."
The campaign aims to raise health awareness and promote a culture of prevention among students, staff, and lecturers, fostering a holistic, healthy academic environment.
It included the distribution of informational brochures covering the concept and causes of obesity, as well as the risks associated with a sedentary lifestyle, physical inactivity, and unbalanced diets. The campaign highlighted key diseases and health complications linked to obesity and offered advice emphasizing the importance of regular exercise and healthy dietary habits.
The initiative was met with widespread engagement and appreciation from the university community, who commended the importance of continuing such awareness-raising activities and acknowledged their cultural value.
