University of Basrah Chairs Meeting of the Committee of Deans of Administrative and Economic Disciplines to Discuss Admission Regulations:

The Committee of Deans of Administrative and Economic Disciplines, chaired by the College Dean, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Hussein Tawfiq Shibli, held a meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters with the Director General of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up.

The attendees addressed several topics, most notably the admission of graduates from the commercial stream into evening programs at Colleges of Administration and Economics, maintaining the same admission quotas approved last year.

They also discussed admission averages for evening programs, stipulating that the required average should not exceed that of private universities by more than one point; this measure aims to prevent potential adverse effects on public universities and their enrollment numbers.

The attendees agreed on a set of recommendations to be submitted to the Ministry’s Scientific Undersecretary for a final decision, in the interest of the educational process and the public.
