PHD DISSERTATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH EXAMINES THE IMPACT OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE

A PhD. dissertation at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, investigated the roles of knowledge sharing and human resource capabilities as moderating variables in the relationship between human resource practices, participative leadership, and employee performance. The study was based on a survey of employees at the University of Basrah.

The dissertation, presented by student Ahmed Abed Saud, aimed to identify how knowledge sharing and human resource capabilities moderate the relationship between human resource practices, participative leadership, and employee performance at the university.

The dissertation addressed various variables and dimensions related to human resource management practices, participative leadership, knowledge sharing, human resource capabilities, and employee performance, while also examining the nature of the relationships and impacts among them.

The dissertation concluded that the University of Basrah demonstrates awareness of and interest in the study's variables. It found a positive impact of human resource practices on employee performance and established that knowledge sharing and human resource capabilities play a moderating role in this relationship.

The dissertation recommended placing greater emphasis on compensation, recognition, and training for university employees, noting that such measures would contribute to enhancing performance, developing capabilities, and improving the work environment.
