A Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Investigates the Reliability of Stress-Rigidity Models Using Coupling Functions

A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, investigated the reliability of stress-rigidity models based on coupling functions in the case of bivariate stress.

The thesis, submitted by student Duha Haider Ali, aimed to estimate the model's reliability, considering the interdependence of its variables, using the Clayton coupling function.

The theoretical aspect of the thesis included Monte Carlo simulations, as well as a practical application using data from diabetic patients.

The thesis concluded that the performance of the MLE and IFM methods differed depending on the sample size. IFM outperformed MLE in small samples, while MLE outperformed MLE in large samples.

The thesis recommended employing stress-rigidity models based on coupling functions in applications characterized by intervariate dependence, and further research into other coupling functions in the future.
