University of basrah Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Detecting Financial Fraud

The College of Administration and Economics/Department of Accounting, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education, organized a scientific seminar entitled "The Complementary Relationship Between Internal Auditing and Forensic Accounting in Detecting Financial Fraud."
The seminar aimed to clarify the concepts of internal auditing and forensic accounting, and to highlight their complementary relationship in detecting cases of financial fraud and enhancing the efficiency of oversight and legal procedures.
The seminar, presented by college members Muslim Bader Jassim and Adyan Falah Harija, included a presentation on the most prominent causes of financial fraud, the role of internal auditing in the early detection of violations, the role of forensic accounting in identifying the parties involved, and mechanisms for coordination and information exchange between the two entities.
The seminar recommended strengthening institutional cooperation, adopting modern technologies, developing specialized training programs, updating laws and regulations, and promoting a culture of compliance to reduce financial fraud.
