UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH HONORS A GROUP OF RETIREES
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah held a ceremony to honor a group of its retired professors and staff members, in recognition of their long service and dedicated efforts in serving the educational process.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Dr. Abdul Hussein Tawfiq Shibli, and in the presence of members of the College Council and a number of lecturers and staff. The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem, and then a minute of silence in remembrance of the martyrs.
The Dean delivered a welcoming speech in which he emphasized the importance of honoring those with experience who contributed to building the college's reputation and solidifying its academic standing. He praised the significant role played by the retirees in preparing generations of students and providing society with scientific expertise. For their part, the retirees expressed their gratitude for this initiative, which reflects the spirit of belonging and appreciation within the institution.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, commemorative shields and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the honorees amidst an atmosphere of pride and farewell. They emphasized that this recognition was not the end of their journey, but rather the beginning of a new chapter in which their contributions would remain etched in the college's memory.
This recognition reflects the college's commitment to fostering a culture of appreciation and acknowledgment of outstanding efforts, and to instilling the values of loyalty and continued dedication.
