University of Basrah Organizes Awareness Campaign on Important Social Issues

The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Banking and Financial Sciences at the University of Basrah, organized a field awareness campaign with the active participation of the department's students.

The campaign included the distribution of informational posters throughout the college, addressing pressing social and behavioral issues.

The campaign aimed to improve the university environment and protect students from falling into the trap of addiction by highlighting the health, legal, and social risks of drug use. It also sought to promote social harmony, spread a culture of mutual respect, and combat bullying, while clarifying its negative psychological effects on individuals and academic performance.

The campaign also shed light on the physical and economic harms of smoking and encouraged students to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, it guided them towards adhering to proper university student conduct, including maintaining a presentable appearance, respecting regulations, and treating peers and professors ethically.

The campaign actively engaged students by involving them in the preparation and distribution of these posters, thus fostering a sense of responsibility and good citizenship.
