University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Employing Statistical Skills
The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Statistics and the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra, organized a scientific seminar entitled "Employing Statistical Skills for Work During University Studies."
The seminar aimed to open new horizons for students to achieve independent financial income by offering statistical analysis services during their studies. It also aimed to develop their practical skills, bridge the gap between theoretical curricula and labor market demands, and boost students' self-confidence by equipping them with outstanding statistical skills that contribute to enhancing their future opportunities.
The seminar, presented by lecturers Wafaa Abdul Samad Ashour, Dr. Fatima Hashim Falhi, and Rehab Ahmed Abdul, included an introduction to the importance of statistical skills in the digital age and an explanation of how to use SPSS and Excel programs in conducting research and freelance work.
The seminar recommended holding advanced courses in SPSS and forming a student team to support statistical analysis for researchers within the university.
