A Higher Diploma  research at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basra, examines the impact of strategic thinking skills on human resource planning strategy: an exploratory study of a sample of managers in the Basra Health Directorate.

The research, presented by student Hisham Kadhim Hamad, aimed to determine the impact of strategic thinking skills on human resource planning strategy within the Basra Health Directorate, using a hypothetical model that included two main variables.

The research presented results indicating that improved strategic thinking skills among managers positively impact the development of human resource plans, confirming that the leader's mindset is the primary driver of planning quality.

The research recommended that senior management support this strategy to reduce uncertainty, develop human capital, improve responsiveness to environmental changes, and enhance the ability of health organizations to effectively plan their human resources and keep pace with changes.
