UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AWARENESS WORKSHOP ON SMART DECISION-MAKING AND BUSINESS DATA ANALYSIS
The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Statistics and the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an awareness workshop entitled "Smart Decision-Making and Business Data Analysis."
The workshop aimed to equip participants with the skills to critically read data to identify hidden opportunities, use predictive models to reduce errors in operational and financial decisions, and link data analysis to overall performance to increase return on investment and improve customer experience.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Bahaa Abdul-Razzaq Qasim, covered mechanisms for transforming massive flows of raw data into tangible strategic insights, reviewed the role of artificial intelligence in big data processing, and demonstrated how to build interactive dashboards that provide decision-makers with a comprehensive and real-time view of the organization's situation, moving beyond personal or arbitrary estimations. The workshop recommended the establishment of a specialized data analysis unit to ensure the accuracy and security of incoming information, investment in advanced analytics software that supports immediate decision-making, and the dissemination of an "evidence-based decision-making" culture among all employees to ensure consistency in the implementation of strategies.
