UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES WORKSHOP ON EARLY DETECTION OF BREAST CANCER
The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Basra Health Department, organized a workshop entitled "Early Detection of Breast Cancer."
The workshop aimed to raise awareness and highlight the importance of early detection and its role in increasing recovery rates to over 95%.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Amal Salman Al-Zawwar, a specialist in family medicine and nutrition, covered the theoretical and practical aspects of the disease, focusing on overcoming women's fears and explaining the mechanism of regular checkups. It targeted female university employees and students.
The workshop recommended correcting misconceptions about the disease and its treatment methods, teaching women how to perform monthly self-examinations, directing women to accredited screening centers, and clarifying the difference between clinical breast exams and mammograms.
