The University of Basrah a Guidance Workshop on Promoting a Culture of Peace and Rejecting Extremism Among Students
The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra and the Basra Governorate Police Command/Women's Affairs Department, organized a guidance workshop entitled "Promoting a Culture of Peace and the Values of Tolerance and Coexistence Among Students and Advocating for Combating Extremism." This workshop was held as part of the activities commemorating the National Day for Combating Violent Extremism.
The workshop aimed to raise intellectual awareness, instill the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among students, and strengthen the role of educational institutions in preventing extremist ideology.
The workshop, presented by legal expert Nawwar Saadi Aboud, included awareness sessions on the concept of social peace, mechanisms for confronting extremism, and the importance of dialogue and acceptance of others.
The workshop recommended the continuation of guidance programs and the intensification of institutional cooperation to support a culture of peace within the university community.
