Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Explores the Use of Topp-Leone Distributions in Probability Storage Models
A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, explored the use of some Topp-Leone distributions in probability storage models, along with their application.
The thesis, presented by researcher Fatima Ahmed Khalaf, aimed to propose a new probability model, namely the Topp-Leone-Shanker (TLSh) distribution, and estimate the total expected cost. Its results were then compared to the Topp-Leone-Rayleigh-Rayleigh (TLRR) distribution, based on the EOQ probability storage model. The proposed distribution was applied to monthly demand data for an 11/250 KVA electrical transformer.
The thesis concluded that the TLSh distribution was superior in terms of lower total expected cost, demonstrating its efficiency compared to the TLRR distribution.
