The University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on Evaluating the Financial and Supervisory Performance of Private Banks Using the CAMELS-RONA Hybrid Model:
The College of Administration and Economics, Department of Financial and Banking Sciences, at the University of Basrah, organized a seminar on evaluating the financial and supervisory performance of private banks using the CAMELS-RONA Hybrid Model.
The seminar included a presentation by Master's student Zainab Haider Abdul-Ridha, supervised by Assistant Professor Ban Tawfiq Najm. Her presentation included an analytical study of a sample of private banks in Iraq for the period 2014–2024.
The seminar was attended by the three-member committee overseeing the graduate student's research and members of the scientific committee, chaired by Professor Dr. Muntadhar Fadhil Saad Al-Batat. The student reviewed the importance of evaluating financial and supervisory performance using CAMELS-RONA indicators, explaining the study's problem, significance, objectives, hypotheses, and temporal and spatial limitations, in addition to the proposed statistical methods for data collection and measurement.
In conclusion, the committees commended the study's topic and offered a set of valuable recommendations, which the researcher expressed her willingness to consider.
