University of Basra Celebrates World Arabic Language Day:

The College of Administration and Economics, Department of Accounting, at the University of Basra, organized a scientific seminar entitled "The Language of the Letter Dhad and the Language of Numbers: The Debate of Precision and Clarity in Accounting Sciences," on the occasion of World Arabic Language Day.

The seminar aimed to highlight the reciprocal relationship between the Arabic language and the language of accounting sciences in explaining and analyzing financial data, and the importance of integrating linguistic and numerical accuracy in accounting work.

The seminar, presented by Dr. Ali Taha, Dr. Suhail Abdullah, Dr. Abbas Abdul Aziz, and Instructor Muslim Bader, included a comprehensive explanation of the importance of the Arabic language and its role in clearly conveying accounting concepts. The Dean of the College also delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of drafting economic reports and financial policies in clear and precise scientific language.

The seminar recommended the necessity of promoting the use of standard Arabic in accounting studies and reports, developing Arabic accounting terminology, and encouraging researchers and students to focus on sound linguistic formulation alongside scientific accuracy.
