UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS SEMINAR ON CYBERSECURITY AND ELECTRONIC EXTORTION
The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the National Security Service and the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Cybersecurity and the Challenges Facing Society Due to Electronic Extortion."
The seminar aimed to raise security awareness among students and the university community regarding the dangers of electronic extortion, promote the concept of cybersecurity, empower students with preventative measures, build trust in dealing with relevant authorities, and mitigate its psychological and social effects.
The seminar, presented by officers from the National Security Service, covered the concept of cybersecurity, extortion methods, privacy protection techniques, and secure reporting mechanisms.
The seminar recommended continuing awareness activities, strengthening institutional cooperation, integrating digital security concepts into guidance programs, and providing psychological and social support to victims of extortion.
