UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES SEMINAR ON WATER SALINITY AND ITS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS
The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized a seminar entitled "Water Salinity and its Environmental Impacts."
The seminar aimed to raise environmental awareness about the dangers of salinity, encourage the study of environmental problems, develop sustainable solutions, and enhance the university's role in addressing local challenges.
The seminar, presented bycollege members Sarah Abbas and Athraa Jasib, included a presentation on the causes of increased salinity in Basrah, its health, environmental, and agricultural effects, and its impact on water resources.
The seminar recommended the necessity of developing plans to address salinity, monitoring pollution sources, raising public awareness, and encouraging scientific studies that support sustainable solutions.
