UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES AN AWARENESS SEMINAR ON DRUG USE ON CAMPUS: CAUSES, PREVENTION, AND TREATMENT

The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the career Development center at the University of Basrah, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Drug Use on Campus: Causes, Prevention, and Treatment."
The seminar aimed to raise students' awareness of the dangers of drugs on campus, educate them on prevention methods, and enhance psychological support to build a safe learning environment that supports academic development.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Ban Yassin Makki, assist. Lect. Israa Khairi, and assist. Lect. Asia Ali Hadi, included a presentation on the problem of drug use, its psychological, social, and economic factors, types of drugs and their effects on health and academic performance, and potential methods of recruiting students. The seminar recommended launching preventative programs for new students, monitoring high-risk cases, providing psychological support, and encouraging the reporting of any suspicious behavior on campus.
