University of Basra Organizes a Seminar on the Impact of Electronic Banking Services on the Profitability of the Banking
The Department of Banking and Financial Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basra, organized a seminar on the impact of electronic banking services on the profitability of the banking sector in Iraq for the period 2015-2024.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Ahmed Jabr Salem and researcher Nabaa Sami Abdul-Ali, aimed to highlight the importance of electronic banking services and their role in enhancing the financial performance of the Iraqi banking sector. This was achieved by analyzing their impact on profitability indicators during the aforementioned period, particularly in light of the trend towards digital transformation in the financial and banking sector.
The seminar addressed the analysis of a range of electronic banking services, including online services, mobile banking, ATMs, and point-of-sale (POS) terminals, and measured their impact on profitability indicators such as Return on Equity (ROA) and Return on Expenditure (ROE).
