The College of Administration and Economics, through its Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra, organized a seminar entitled "Awareness Management and Shaping the Future: Drugs as a Strategic and Economic Threat."

The seminar aimed to raise awareness and emphasize the role of students in prevention and the necessity of concerted academic and community efforts to confront this strategic challenge that threatens social security and economic development.

The seminar, presented by Dr. Iman Hato, Dr. Dunia Salman, and Assistant Lecturer Yasmin Najm, addressed the serious effects of drug proliferation in society from psychological, economic, social, and security perspectives. It also covered methods for enhancing self-awareness, preventative and treatment approaches for those suffering from addiction, and the role of educational institutions in building a generation that is aware and resilient against deviant behavior.

The seminar recommended the need to activate partnerships between the university and security and health institutions to unify efforts by expanding the scope of media awareness campaigns to reach all segments of society and to provide psychological and guidance support to students who are at risk or affected by drugs.
