UNIVERSITY OF BASRAH ORGANIZES A SEMINAR ON PREDICTING STOCK INVESTMENT RETURNS AND RISKS USING MULTI-LAYER NEURAL NETWORKS
The College of Administration and Economics, Department of Banking  and Financial Sciences at the University of Basrah, organized a seminar titled "Predicting Stock Investment Returns and Risks Using Multi-Layer Neural Networks."
The seminar, presented by student Abdul Khaliq Mudhar Mahmoud, aimed to highlight the latest technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and their applications in the financial environment. It also aimed to introduce investors and researchers to an important aspect of the use of artificial intelligence techniques, particularly in predicting stock returns and risks using the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) Neural Network (MLP). This network offers predictive capabilities without the need for traditional statistical assumptions required by classical models.
The seminar addressed the possibility of employing artificial neural networks as an alternative and modern tool to support investment decisions, especially in the unstable and highly volatile financial market environment. It noted that adopting these models contributes to providing more accurate estimates of expected returns and risk levels, which supports the efficiency of investment decisions.
