THE ASSISTANT DEAN FOR SCIENTIFIC AFFAIRS HOLDS A COORDINATION MEETING WITH THE GUIDANCE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING UNIT IN PREPARATION FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR:
The Assistant Dean of the College of administration and Economics for scientific Affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ammar Yousef Dagher, held an initial meeting with the Counseling and Psychological Guidance Unit, in the presence of the unit's head and guidance officials from all academic departments. This meeting coincides with the start of the new academic year.
During the meeting, several important topics were discussed, most notably the importance of familiarizing first-year students with the college's regulations and instructions to ensure their smooth integration into the university environment, and emphasizing adherence to the university's uniform as a manifestation of discipline and academic conduct.
Emphasis was also placed on activating the guidance hour included in the school schedules, and investing it in monitoring students' psychological and social conditions and addressing them through individual or group guidance sessions, in addition to referring special cases to the relevant authorities for professional follow-up.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a number of recommendations were agreed upon, most notably continuing to hold regular meetings to monitor the performance of guidance officers in the departments, enhancing cooperation with teaching staff to monitor students who are struggling academically, and providing them with the necessary support to raise their academic standards and achieve the desired success.
