BASRA UNIVERSITY HOLDS AN ECONOMIC SYMPOSIUM ON ((2021 BUDGET BETWEEN WASTE AND REFORM))
At Wednesday 20/1/2021 the College of Administration and Economics held an economic symposium on (2021 budget between waste and reform) and in the presence of the president of Basra University Dr.Saad Shaheen Hammadi and the deputy for the Basra Governorate Zahra Al-Bajari, an economic symposium on (2021 budget between waste and reform) presented by Prof.Dr. Nabil Jaafer Al-Marsoumi, Asist.Prof.Dr. Adnan Farhan AL-Jurani, and Asist.Prof.Dr.Shaaban Sadam AL-Emara with the participation of specialized researchers.
The symposium aimed to discuss the general budget for 2021 and indicate its strengths and weaknesses.
The researchers recommended several very important recommendations including that the budget is very large and needs to reduce public spending and the government’s request to raise Basra’s share in the general budget as it is inconsistent with the province being the most producing crude oil, Finally employees’ salaries should not be affected, as they represent the largest percentage of local demand.
