The University of Basra is investigating the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between human resource management practices and organizational performance:
A doctoral dissertation at the College of Administration and Economics, Department of Business Administration, examined the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between human resource management practices and organizational performance. Locus of control is an interactive variable: an applied study at the General Authority of Customs.
The study, presented by student Khaled Ali Hussein, aims to explore the necessary methods to promote positive behaviors at work in order to improve organizational performance.
The study relied on positivism and employed a quantitative design, utilizing a questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. This questionnaire was implemented at the General Authority of Customs.
The study reached several conclusions, the most important of which was the positive interactive role of the internal control index and the negative role of the external control index. Therefore, the study recommended the need to focus on improving human resource management and identifying the personal characteristics of individuals in order to choose the most appropriate work practices.
